Credit Repair Help and Information
I’ve seen many credit repair programs that claim that if you have a bad credit score that by using their system you can raise your credit score overnight. Many companies promise consumers with a bad credit history that they will clean up all the information on your credit report
so they can get a car loan, a home mortgage, insurance, or even a job.
After paying them $100’s or $1000’s of dollars they don’t deliver, when it’s all said and done, they have your money and you’re left with the same bad credit history you started with and the credit repair company? They disappear with your money of course.
This is all too familiar for many consumers. There is hope though, with a little guidance you can improve your credit score with free or low cost legitimate resources. Before I tell you the warning signs that you’re being scammed let me tell you about a program that is inexpensive.

Credit Repair Scam warning signs:
- First and foremost, do not pay for credit repair services before any services are provided. If a credit repair company wants the money up front, run away!
- You should be advised of ALL your legal rights and what you can do yourself for free.
- If you're told not to contact the credit bureaus yourself that should clue you in that something is not quite right.
- If they suggest you try and create a new identity (that's illegal)
Understand, you could be prosecuted if you commit fraud in a any way, even if you're doing so on the advice of a credit repair company.
One last thing, The Credit Repair Organizations Act requires credit repair companies or services provide you a copy of the “Consumer Credit File Rights Under State and Federal Law.” Make sure you receive your copy before you sign any contracts. When you do sign a contract with a credit repair service make sure it details exactly the services to be provided, the total cost for their services, all guarantees they offer, how long it will be before you see results and last but not least, the company's name, address, and phone number.
Reasonable efforts are made to maintain accurate information.
However, information is presented without warranty. When you
click on the "apply online" link you will have an opportunity
to review the credit card terms and conditions on the credit
card issuer's web site.
